Within walking distance of River Mill lies the Chattahoochee River. It’s known as the River of the Painted Rock, where at one time the Cherokee and Creek people lived, hunted and fished along its banks. The river and its tributaries supplied power to run the mills.
Today, a seven-mile linear park along the river provides the opportunity to follow one of Georgia’s most unique resources as it winds its way through Roswell. Playgrounds, picnic areas, bicycling, multipurpose trails, spraygrounds, boat ramps and fishing are located at Azalea Park on Azalea Drive; Don White Memorial Park on Riverside Road; and Riverside Park on Riverside Road – all within one mile of the complex.
